Services Provided
The Site offers:
- Written content and educational resources
- Newsletter subscriptions
- A comments section for discussion
- A contact form for direct communication
- AI-powered features to enhance your reading experience
AI Features
Our AI features (critical thinking questions and related topics) are designed to help you engage more deeply with our content.
How They Work
- AI features analyze article content and generate discussion prompts or related topics
- Responses are cached and shared across users for efficiency
- Multiple AI models are available, organized into tiers
Usage Tiers
| Tier | Access | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Free | All visitors | Open-source and free-tier AI models |
| Fast | All visitors | Quick-response commercial models |
| Balanced | Members only | Mid-range commercial models |
| Premium | Members only | Advanced commercial models |
Rate Limits
To ensure fair access and manage costs, usage is rate-limited:
- All tiers have token-based rate limits that refill over time
- If you hit a rate limit, try again later or switch to a different model tier
- Cached responses don't count against your limit
Caching
AI responses are cached and may be shared across users viewing the same article. This improves speed and reduces costs. Cached responses don't count against rate limits.
Regeneration and Feedback
You can regenerate AI responses if you want a fresh perspective. Regenerated responses are subject to the same rate limits. After regeneration, you can provide feedback on whether the new or previous response was better—this helps improve the system.
